Well, I do have excuses for my absence (in case you were wondering). And they are really good too. Ask me sometime and I will rattle them off. I even thought for sure once football season hit I would have tons of time to blog, yet somehow that is never the case. Now so much has happened and I am beginning to feel about it the way I feel about my poor neglected journal. Everytime I think about it I am overwhelmed about what I need to catch up on. I wish I could just pick up where I am and forget the rest, but after all -I am who I am- and it seems I would rather do a crazy cram session.
So lets see- what exactly HAVE we been doing for the past several months? Where do I start??

Oh yeah! My kids started school! That has definately kept me busy. This picture shows what kind of mother I am turning into. I didn't get a picture of Lexie (she left 2 hrs before everyone else) or of Payter. I did remember to take this thanks to Jeff. Any more I have lost my motivation for any extras. I just buckle down and do the essentials and when I am done I am pooped and all the fun things I used to do seem like too much of a hassle. Okay, I admit taking a picture is not much work. Maybe it is just lazyness- or the fact that having lots of little kids fills your brain with so much static that you forget alot of things. Yeah, I think that must be it.
So Payter started preschool, Zack is loving kindergarten, Brookie is second grade, Kobe is in fourth, and Lexie went into MIDDLE school. I am not liking the growing up so fast thing, any tips on how to stop it?
Kobe became a Bear, which was a noteworthy accomplishment if you ask me. Now I just need to force myself to sew on his patches. He is so sweet- he never even hassles me that I still haven't even put his pack # on his sleeve. He is doing great and Jeff does alot of it with him. I always feel a little guilty accepting the mother's pin.
This was our last shot at camping. We went in October. Usually I am not one for camping where I know it will be cold, but I was pleasantly surprised on this trip. We had a lot of fun, and got to use the dinosaur trailer. I always feel good when we do that. We stuck close to home and went up by Idaho City. It is like a restored old town that needs re-restored. Or maybe just some paved streets. During the gold rush it was the largest town in the Pacific Northwest. Hard to imagine now. There are a ton of cool old things there if you like history.
One of my favorite things to see was the pioneer cemetary. It was way bigger than I thought it would be and it just sort of winds through the trees and up hills. It is so unique and there were grave stones older and more elaborate than any I had ever seen.
Pretty fun camping crew. :)
Oh yes, we had 2 birthdays in Oct. Zack is 6 and Kobe is 10! We did a family party instead of friends so we went to the Bounce place with all of the BIG inflatable toys/trampolines/games. That was cool, I bet you can't guess how many of the kids cried though.
Both the boys got new bikes. Too bad the summer was over and we only got in a few rides before it got cold and busy.
Although I have no pictures, I can't not mention what rules most of our fall, and that is soccer, of course. The oldest 4 all play, Jeff coaches 3 of their teams. I really enjoy watching their games, and I breathe a BIG sigh of relief when it's all over.
I didn't take many halloween pics, but here is a fun haunted house cake Lexie made for a school contest. We were up late making it, but I must admit it was fun!
And here is Halloween. I am sure most of you know I am not the hugest fan of this holiday, but this year wasn't so bad. I didn't have to buy any costumes, and the only trick-or-treating we had to do was the ward party on Friday. The candy didn't last long, which I was so glad! No finding sucker sticks and wrappers all over. It was all over in a couple of days! And the kids didn't even care since we left on Halloween day to drive to Disneyland! But that obviously is a post in itself. And that is all for tonight.
